Children's Services EqualitiesNorfolk Children’s Services is committed to equality for all. This site brings together information that relates to that commitment, both in terms of what we think and what we do, to implement this core belief. Whilst the primary function of this site is to support Children’s Services and Schools staff, the overwhelming majority of the site is also open to the public. By making public it’s commitment to equality, Children’s Services hopes to both raise the profile of equality issues in general and make clear the approach to equality that children and their families who are receiving a service can expect.
The structure of this site is intended to support access to information about the six equality strands of : - race
- gender
- disability
- sexual orientation
- faith
- age
There are also sections dedicated to: - Combating bullying,
- Promoting inclusion
- Equality Impact Assessment.
There are also some interactive elements within the site for Children’s Services and Schools staff: Children’s Services racist incident reporting form is located in the race section. By clicking on the link staff will be able to access the form and it’s accompanying guidance online. The form can then be filled in on line or downloaded in paper form The Equality Impact Assessment section is where staff log completed Equality Impact Assessments and should over time build up to provide a reference point and resource for those carrying out new assessments.

Within each of the nine sections, information and links are organised under three headings: - General Information : containing links to corporate schemes, Departmental action plans, key legislation
- School Specific Information : containing links to Management Information Sheets and other school specific guidance
- Useful links and helpful Individuals : containing links to the websites of relevant organisations and names and addresses of key professionals with a particular responsibility or knowledge in relation to the issue
